Zatoichi, the legendary blind swordsman in Japanese fiction, is often depicted carrying a sword cane. In Japanese, these are called Shikomizue, but this type of sword cane is often referred to by the name of its most legendary user: Zatoichi.
The 25" blade of our Zatoichi sword cane is crafted from T10 steel that has been hand-forged and differentially hardened in the traditional way. The handle and scabbard are both made from maple wood and finished with a deep black lacquer. The handle is removable and features an unglued pin to secure it in place. The balance of this sword is superb, and the rounded handle offers a surprisingly ergonomic grip. Weighing just 1 lb 8 oz, this sword can easily be wielded with one hand but also provides ample handle space for a supporting hand.
