Sultan Selim III Sword

Sultan Selim III was one of the Sultans of the Ottoman Empire. He is significant for his efforts to modernize the Ottoman Empire during a challenging period. His reform initiatives aimed at strengthening the military and administrative structures were known as the Nizam-i Cedid (New Order). This piece was modelled after his kilij (sword) with the first verses of the Fetih Ayat, Basmalah and Tugra engraved on the sword.
