Ryūtai Wakizashi 龍謡

The Ryūtai Wakizashi is a blade that carries both strength and song within its steel. Forged from folded Damascus, the flowing grain shimmers like ripples of sound, each layer a verse in a tale of resilience and artistry. Through the clay-tempered process, a natural hamon emerges, resonant and alive—an echo of tradition preserved in form and spirit.

The soul of this piece lies in its fittings. Two dragons entwine across the tsuba, their dance rendered in contrasting tones of gold, silver, and shadowed iron. They embody balance—power and grace, strength and wisdom—just as a song weaves harmony from many notes.

Bringing the composition together, the tsuka is wrapped in kincha silk ito over genuine rayskin, its warm golden-brown hue perfectly echoing the wooden saya in its glossy finish. The harmony of colour and form enhances the presence of the blade without overwhelming it, a subtle radiance befitting the dragon’s timeless song.
