Kosugi Wakizashi (小杉)

Named Kosugi, this wakizashi reflects the quiet strength and enduring character of nature. Housed in a refined African rosewood shirasaya, its understated form allows the beauty of the blade to take centre stage.

Hand forged from 1095 high carbon steel and traditionally clay tempered, the blade reveals a genuine hamon that flows gracefully along the steel. The mirror-polished finish enhances this effect, creating a striking interplay between brilliance and shadow.

Its distinctive Unokubi-Zukuri profile is complemented by two bo-hi on each side—a broad groove that extends halfway down the blade, accompanied by a slimmer groove that continues toward the tip. Together, they lend the blade an elegant visual rhythm while reflecting the thoughtful balance found in traditional Japanese sword design.

Quiet in appearance yet exceptional in craftsmanship, the Kosugi Wakizashi embodies the philosophy that true refinement is found not in ornamentation, but in precision, harmony, and purpose.
