Musashi 武蔵

Miyamoto Musashi (宮本 武蔵, 1584 - 1645) was a Japanese swordsman, ronin and philosopher. He attained the legendary status of Kensei (剣聖) with his superb swordsmanship and creation of the Niten Ichi-ryū (二天一流) style and had written books of philosophies.

Never Stray from The Way - 21st precept from Dokkōdō (獨行道)

This final precept summarised how a samurai should live - a life of sheer discipline and to never be swayed by pleasures. This timeless perspective is still widely followed while in the pursuit of excellence in any field.
