The Koi Wakizashi is a refined blend of tradition and craftsmanship. Its hand-forged T10 high-carbon steel blade is differentially hardened using the traditional claying method, ensuring both strength and beauty.
Mounted in a striking black and white theme, the wakizashi features black samegawa (rayskin) beneath a premium white Japanese cotton tsuka-ito. The deep black lacquered saya is paired with a black and white striped cotton sageo, enhancing its elegant contrast. A finely detailed koi, intricately designed with front-and-back relief, adorns the black iron tsuba, while antiqued fittings complete the wakizashi’s aesthetic appeal. Each sword comes with a protective cloth bag and a traditional maintenance kit.
Symbolizing perseverance and courage, the koi is said to swim against strong currents and climb waterfalls, much like a samurai who faces challenges with unwavering determination. Legend also tells that when caught, a koi remains still beneath the blade, embodying the fearless spirit of a warrior.
Please note: the sageo (cord) on the saya (scabbard) may not be wrapped as pictured. Sageo colour may vary.
