Description

Spider (kumo) is considered an auspicious insect in Japanese culture. It is said that seeing a spider in the morning is a good omen as spiders only appear to make webs when the weather is good. It is believed that spider is a messenger between this and the world beyond, bringing well-being. Red (aka) is believed to scare away evil spirits, representing strength and power.

This katana features a beautifully hand-painted scabbard which mimics the intricacy of spider webs.
