The Lion Dog Katana features an O-Kissaki blade crafted from Hanwei’s high-alloy HWS-1S steel, known for its superior edge retention and resilience. Showcasing an outstanding O-choji hamon, this blade is forged using advanced metallurgy at Hanwei’s state-of-the-art facility, where precise alloy selection and intricate processing enhance its toughness and durability. The katana’s detailed fittings include a black iron tsuba with a Lion Dog motif, complemented by matching fuchi and kashira, along with golden peony menuki. The saya features a striking combination of gloss-lacquered ribbing near the koiguchi and kurikata, transitioning into a spatter-lacquered finish. A handwoven black sageo completes the elegant design.
